TSSA Hosts Annual General Meeting, Awards Banquet, and Hall of Fame Induction

Exciting Things on the Horizon for Soccer In Tennessee

The Tennessee State Soccer Association recently hosted it’s Annual General Meeting(AGM) at the Airport Marriott in Nashville.  The AGM is a time for club leaders, directors of coaching, and TSSA staff and board of directors to get together to discuss a wide range of topics and changes that take shape each year within the structure of Tennessee, as well as nationally.  The AGM covers a wide range of topics within the soccer community.  Some of the highlights this year were possible changes for State Cup, the addition of adding a State Cup for high school age Division 4 teams, Coaching Education, club and player development at all levels, and elections for seats of the TSSA Board of Directors.

In addition to the meeting portion of the day, TSSA hosted it’s awards dinner and Hall of Fame induction at the conclusion of the meetings.  We had a tremendous turnout with over 175 people attending the social and dinner.  Court Jeske, recently hired as CEO for Nashville’s newly awarded USL Pro franchise, was the featured speaker. Jeske came to Nashville from Soccer Unite Marketing, which handles the marketing and business activity for Major League Soccer. He gave great insight into professional soccer returning to Tennessee and the vision going forward for the franchise.

Below are some highlights from the awards ceremony. Please be on the lookout for more information for next year’s bigger, and better, AGM.
