NUSA and Music City FC Teams Headed to USYSA National Presidents Cup This Week

Two TSSA teams have moved on to the USYSA National Presidents Cup Championship to be held this week in Westfield, IN at Grand Park Sports Complex. NUSA 01 Maroon Girls and Music City FC 02 Boys Premier punched their tickets to nationals by grinding at Presidents cup regionals and winning their age groups at Region 3 Presidents Cup, held the third week of June in Greenville, SC.

NUSA, coached by Cameron Eades,  went unscathed during the week, compiling a 5-0 record,  and capped off their championship run with a 4-2 victory over South Texas.  This is the tenth time since the inception of the event eleven years ago TSSA has been  represented by a girls team as a Presidents Cup national qualifier.

The Music City 02 Boys Premier team, coached Roger Reyes, finished their run at regionals with a 4-0-1 record.  After playing to a draw in the first game of the tournament, the boys went 4-0 the rest of the way and finished their championship run with a 5-2 win over North Texas.  This is only the second time in Presidents Cup history TSSA has had a boys team qualify.  Previously HVFC, from the tri-cities, qualified their 16U boys team in 2011.

Both teams begin play this Thursday in their quest to bring home a National Championship for their club and state. Good luck to both teams this week.
