ABOUT THE JUNIORS DEVELOPMENTAL LEAGUE
The Tennessee State Soccer Association (TSSA) created the Juniors Developmental League (JDL) in 2019. The purpose of the JDL is to offer a developmental league where our coaches are able to work together within the guidelines of the USSF Player Developmental Initiatives (PDI’s). The JDL serves as an introductory league to prepare our players and teams for the Tennessee State League at ages 12U-19U.
The JDL is meant to create games for teams within each district, but sometimes teams may have to travel due to a lack of teams in a specific area. The JDL is typically split into levels of Most Competitive, Competitive, and Least Competitive. Coaches in every age group are asked to work together to solve problems of imbalance that occur during games. Rather than running up scores, the goal is to find a mutually agreeable solution. Coaches may add/subtract players, move build out lines up/back, or seek a mutually agreeable solution to the imbalance. There are no TSSA team fees for the participating teams, but teams do pay for referee fees or field fees associated with each game.

Important League Dates:
- Team Registration DEADLINE: 10 Days Before Each Play Date
- Zoom Meeting: TBD – Be on the lookout for registration.
- Schedule Release Date: Monday before the play date. Be prepared to play games on Saturdays after 3 PM and anytime on Sundays unless other times are noted when registering.
PLAY DATES AND LOCATIONS – Fall 2024
August 24-25: Siegel Park (Registration Info coming soon – please note you will need to have a team created for each team/level you want to enter)
September 21-22: Siegel Park – Registration NOW OPEN– please note you will need to have a team created for each team/level you want to enter
Games could be Saturday 9am-9pm and Sunday 10am-6pm – please be prepared to play anytime during the days you request.
October 12-13: Harpeth Soccer Park Registration NOW OPEN– please note you will need to have a team created for each team/level you want to enter. CLOSES OCT 3.
Games could be Saturday 2pm-9pm and Sunday 10am-6pm – please be prepared to play anytime during the days you request.
November 2-3: White House Registration NOW OPEN– please note you will need to have a team created for each team/level you want to enter. CLOSES OCT 22
Games could be Saturday 9am-9pm and Sunday 10am-6pm – please be prepared to play anytime during the days you request.
Additional Games: Teams will be given contact info for all teams to schedule any friendlies outside of the play date weekends one the event is over.
Play Date Fee: $299 per team for each play date. This will cover all registration and admin fees to to include: ref fees for up to four games and a ref mentor for each game. Lower Fees if fewer games are requested and will be communicated once teams are determined and accepted.
