The final matches of the Tennessee State Soccer Association (TSSA) Fall State Cup were played this past weekend, with champions being crowned at the Richard Siegel Soccer Complex in Murfreesboro. Boys teams in the 15U to 19U age groups, as well as both boys and girls teams in the 12U division, provided an outstanding weekend of soccer as they battled for the right to be called state champions.
“What an incredible two weeks of play,” said Hans Hobson, TSSA Chief Executive Officer. “This had to be the most competitive year on the boys side that we have had in some time. Overall, we had 17 different club winners among 20 different divisions and age groups. In the D1 division alone, we had six different club winners represented over seven age groups. The parity represented this year has not occurred in my time here over the last 10 years.”

Winners at the Division 1 level of Tennessee State Cup now advance to the US Youth Soccer (USYS) Southern Regional Championships next June in Tampa and Auburndale, Florida. The competition is part of the USYS National Championship Series, which is the country’s most prestigious national youth soccer tournament. Champions at the Division 2 level continue onto regional play in the USYS Southern Presidents Cup next June in Plano, Texas. The USYS Presidents Cup provides a progressive and competitive environment to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community.
Open to all member clubs and their teams, TSSA has hosted the Tennessee State Cup since 1976. Games are played at competitive levels within three divisions (Division 1, Division 2 and Divisions 3).
Following the conclusion of Tennessee State Cup, TSSA is pleased to offer a club fundraising opportunity through Picture This Now where parents, players and teams can use photos from the weekend to create a variety of memorable keepsakes such as photobooks, custom gifts and wall art. Through the fundraiser, a portion of sales will be distributed directly to the club that the player represents. These unique photo opportunities make great holiday gift ideas, and complete details can be found online now: tnsoccer.photos
