National Presidents Cup

14 Tennessee State Soccer Association (TSSA) teams traveled to Loudoun County, Virginia, for the US Youth Soccer Mid Atlantic Presidents Cup, with four battling their way into the final round of the competition. JSC 2012 Boys Gold lifted the 14U Boys Championship Trophy in Virginia, while Kings Hammer Elite Murfreesboro G07/08-R secured a berth in the USYS National Presidents Cup next month in Wichita, Kansas.

The USYS Mid Atlantic Presidents Cup, held from June 11-14th at Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park, brought together Presidents Cup champions from across the region in the 13U-19U age groups, all of whom earned their spots after advancing from state competition. For Tennessee’s representatives, that journey began back in the Tennessee State League and culminated with a State Cup title at the Richard Siegel Soccer Complex in Murfreesboro.

Three Days of Group Play

14 Tennessee teams opened the tournament with three days of group play, battling through deep and competitive brackets to determine which teams would advance to the Finals.

Day 1 saw Tennessee teams go a combined 6-6-2, an encouraging start against the regional field. That momentum carried into Day 2, where Tennessee posted a 7-6-1 record, continuing to push for position as they headed into the final day of group play. Day 3 brought a tougher slate at 5-8, with four TSSA sides advancing once the final whistle had been blown on the opening round.

At the end of group play, JSC 2012 Boys Gold (14U Boys), KH Elite Murfreesboro G07/08-R (19U Girls), NUSA G09 Maroon (17U Girls), and PSA Tornadoes (16U Boys) all secured their places in the championship round.

Finals Day in Loudoun County

The championship round brought a 1-3 record for Tennessee’s four representatives, but the storylines that emerged were nothing short of memorable.

JSC 2012 Boys Gold defeated Arlington SA 2012B White, 3-2, to claim the 14U Boys Mid Atlantic Presidents Cup title. Following the win, the team elected not to travel to the USYS National Presidents Cup in July.

NUSA G09 Maroon endured the toughest heartbreak of the day in the 17U Girls Final against CVYSA Blast Blue G, battling to a scoreless draw through regulation before falling in penalty kicks, 3-1.

KH Elite Murfreesboro G07/08-R fell just short in the 19U Girls final against NCFCY Gold North. However, the 19U Girls champion declined its bid to Nationals, opening the door for Kings Hammer Murfreesboro to advance to USYS National Presidents Cup competition this July in their place.

PSA Tornadoes rounded out Tennessee’s finalists in the 16U Boys bracket, falling to NCFCY Gold DCH in their championship match.

A Strong Showing for Tennessee Soccer

With four finalists, a hard-fought run through group play, and a national berth secured for the Kings Hammer Murfreesboro 19U Girls, Tennessee’s trip to the Mid Atlantic Presidents Cup showcased the depth and quality continuing to build within the state. Congratulations to every Tennessee team that competed in Loudoun County, and best of luck to KH Elite Murfreesboro G07/08-R as they prepare for the national stage this summer in Wichita, Kansas.

Earning spots in the knockout stage were TSC Williamson 2009 Girls Showcase (16U Girls), USA North G17U (17U Girls) and Tri-Cities United (18U Girls). Also representing Tennessee at the National Presidents Cup were TSC Williamson 2012 Girls Showcase (13U Girls), JSC 2012 Girls (13U Girls), FC Alliance North 2010 Girls (15U Girls) and PSA Pedro Jrs (19U Boys).

TSC Williamson 2009 Girls Showcase finished second in their group at the National Presidents Cup to secure a spot in the semifinals, posting a 1-1-1 record and 6-5 goal differential. That set up a matchup with Premier 09G (Eastern Pennsylvania) in the next round, where TSC Williamson 2009 Girls Showcase completed their tournament run as national semifinalists.

USA North G17U had a dominant showing in group play at the National Presidents Cup, winning their bracket on three consecutive victories and a 10-2 goal differential. In the semifinals, they faced FC Stars 2008G Academy (Illinois), falling just short in a razor-thin 2-1 result.

The Tri-Cities United 18U Girls earned a spot in the semifinals after finishing second in their group with a 1-1-1 record and 3-2 goal differential. In the next round, they faced eventual national champions Cannons 07/08G (Eastern Pennsylvania), narrowly falling 2-1 in a hard-fought contest.

Seven Tennessee State Soccer Association (TSSA) teams punched their tickets to the US Youth Soccer (USYS) National Presidents Cup after reaching the final round of the USYS Southern Presidents Cup in Plano, Texas. Raising the trophy as champions for their respective age groups were TSC Williamson 2012 Girls Showcase (13U Girls), FC Alliance North 2010 Girls (15U Girls), USA North G17U (17U Girls) and PSA Pedro Jrs (19U Boys). Also booking a reservation to the National Presidents Cup as finalists in Texas were JSC 2012 GIRLS (13U Girls), TSC Williamson 2009 Girls Showcase (16U Girls) and TSC Williamson 2006/2007 Girls Showcase (19U Girls).

TSC Williamson 2012 Girls Showcase registered three consecutive shutouts to win their group at the Southern Presidents Cup, posting a 6-0 goal differential over three straight wins. They continued their incredible run with a 2-0 victory over Auburndale Scream 2012 U13 Girls (Florida) in the semifinals before earning the 13U Championship with a 1-0 victory over TSSA team JSC 2012 GIRLS. With that result, TSC Williamson 2012 Girls Showcase completed the regional competition without conceding a single goal, recording five clean sheets and a perfect 9-0 goal differential.

FC Alliance North 2010 Girls dominated their group with three straight shutouts and a 10-0 tally across their opening round matches. They carried that momentum into the semifinals, where the Tennessee side topped Mustang United 2010 G (Oklahoma) by a score of 2-1. In the championship game, FC Alliance North 2010 Girls secured their fourth clean sheet of the tournament to lift the 15U Girls Trophy, blanking CSA North/Hville King G (North Carolina) by a final of 2-0.

USA North G17U played top-class soccer in the group stage, winning their bracket on three consecutive shutouts and a 10-0 goal advantage over three straight victories. Next on the slate was a semifinal pairing with Alabama FC 08G (Alabama), where they battled for a hard-fought 2-1 decision and advanced to the championship match. BH 2008G (Louisiana) was their opponent in the final, and USA North G17U prevailed over the Louisiana side by a tally of 2-1 to raise the 17U Girls Southern Presidents Cup.

PSA Pedro Jrs opened the Southern Presidents Cup with three victories to win their group, outscoring the opposition by a scoreline of 13-3. In the semifinal round, they found themselves opposite Blitz Academy FC 06 Boys Premier (Oklahoma), defeating the Oklahoma team by of result of 2-1 in their favor. They continued their success into the final, earning a 2-0 victory over EDLL MC 2006 (South Texas) to claim the 19U Boys Championship.

JSC 2012 GIRLS won all three of their group stage matches on a 12-2 goal differential, setting up a semifinal game with OK Energy FC 12G Navy (Oklahoma). That back-and-forth match saw JSC 2012 GIRLS eventually best the Oklahoma team, 2-1, setting up an all-Tennessee final against TSC Williamson 2012 Girls Showcase. In a tightly contested championship match, TSC Williamson came out on top with a 1-0 result.

TSC Williamson 2009 Girls Showcase won their group following three consecutive victories and a goal advantage of 7-2. After securing the top seed from their bracket, the Tennessee side advanced to a semifinal contest with Lakeland Toros 9/10 Girls (South Carolina), where TSC Williamson 2009 Girls Showcase topped their opponent by a tally of 1-0. The final pairing of their Southern Presidents Cup run was against IFC 09/10 Girls Premier (Mississippi), with the Mississippi representative edging out the 2-1 result.

TSC Williamson 2006/2007 Girls Showcase went unbeaten in group play, securing the top seed from their bracket behind a 2-0-1 record and 7-2 goal differential in their favor. That placed them opposite TSSA representative Rc3 FC Reign 06-09G in the semifinals, with TSC Williamson 2006/2007 Girls Showcase earning a 3-1 result. In the final round of the 19U Girls Tournament was a meeting against New Orleans DFC 06G (Louisiana), where the Louisiana side was able to come out on top.

Also representing Tennessee at the Southern Presidents Cup was EFSC 2011 Everton Girls (14U Girls), Clarksville SC G2011 Maroon (14U Girls), Tri-Cities United U18 Girls (18U Girls), Rc3 FC Reign 06-09G (19U Girls), JSC 2012 BOYS GOLD (13U Boys), BUSC 2011 Hammers Navy (14U Boys), Armada FC 10B Red (15U Boys), 2009 Redoubt Generals Royal (16U Boys), 2008 Lobos Rush ECNL RL (17U Boys) and NUSA B07 Navy (18U Boys).

The US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup has officially come to a close in Wichita, Kansas, with champions being crowned in the 13U to 19U divisions for boys and girls teams. The Tennessee State Soccer Association was represented by a pair of teams at the tournament, with TSC Williamson 2007 Girls Showcase (17U Girls) and SCOR 11 GU13 Lady Mustangs (13U Girls) both competing on the national stage in Kansas.

TSC Williamson 2007 Girls Showcase (17U Girls) reached the semifinals of the USYS National Presidents Cup, where they faced CUSC 07G Premier OP (IL) on Monday. TSC Williamson unfortunately fell to the Illinois side in that semifinal pairing, but the team represented the State of Tennessee extraordinarily well at the national tournament. They finished the opening round of the competition with a cumulative 1-1-1 record, which secured the second-place spot from their group to earn the semifinal matchup with CUSC 07G Premier OP.

SCOR 11 GU13 Lady Mustangs (13U Girls) also represented Tennessee at the USYS National Presidents Cup, but they unfortunately saw their tournament run come to an end at the conclusion of group play. SCOR compiled a 1-1-1 record in their group, but they were ultimately edged out in points as the deciding factor for the second-place representative of their bracket.

TSC Williamson 2007 Girls Showcase (17U Girls) is continuing their quest for a national title in Wichita, Kansas, with semifinal action getting underway on Monday at the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup. SCOR 11 GU13 Lady Mustangs (13U Girls) also represented Tennessee at the USYS National Presidents Cup, but they unfortunately saw their tournament run come to an end at the conclusion of group play.

TSC Williamson 2007 Girls Showcase (17U Girls) finished the opening round of the competition with a cumulative 1-1-1 record. Their four points and even goal differential was enough for the Tennessee side to punch their ticket to the semifinals on Monday morning, where they face CUSC 07G Premier OP (IL) for an early encounter at 7:00 AM CDT. CUSC 07G Premier OP concluded group play at the top of their bracket, recording three consecutive wins on a 9-1 advantage in goals.

SCOR 11 GU13 Lady Mustangs (13U Girls) also compiled a 1-1-1 record in their group, but they were ultimately edged out in points as the deciding factor for the second-place representative of their bracket.
